With the release of THE RESURRECTION SORROW’s debut release Hour of the Wolf a few weeks behind us, the metallic stoner-rock mastery of the record has taken quite a few humans by surprise, resulting in some amazing reviews and fan responses. The band’s combined influences on the record culminate into something pure and proud that fans of a magnitude of genres are heavily praising.
“The Resurrection Sorrow draws heavy on that dark swagger while maintaining an edge and an earthy grit and also bring a level of heaviness that easily exceeds that of it influences and makes this a band well worth checking out…” – Hellride Music
“Raised on swampy boogie rock, influenced by the plodding insanity of early Soundgarden, yet adoring the incendiary thrust of the NOLA heavy music scene, New York’s Resurrection Sorrow have a ballsy fury going on Hour Of The Wolf. ” – Exclaim! Magazine
“Raw, heavy, anthemic and played with obvious passion, this is a great album from a bunch of musicians with enough of a playing history to know how to craft each song so it never outstays its welcome.” 5/5 [Album of the Year: Chris Ward] – RockMidgets.com
“In a word: Ballsy… This is testosterone driven doom rock that stands out like a high five across the table at a fancy restaurant. Think COC, BLS, Crowbar, some Borgo Pass-style sludge…” – TheObelisk.net
A national radio campaign for Hour of the Wolf begins January 18th via Skateboard Marketing – longtime cohorts of the band and Earsplit PR – who also have a long history of supporting both national and DIY artists.
The band also have a few shows lined up for the coming months, with more constantly in the works. Full-on touring is imminent in the band’s near future:
