Rhode Island’s PILGRIM will return to the road next month to wage their doomy delights across the land. The East Coast/Midwest jaunt will embark on June 14th out of New Bedford, Massachusetts and pillage its way through ten municipalities, wrapping up in Brooklyn, New York on June 25th at The Acheron. Support will be provided by London doom metallers, Age Of Taurus!
Recorded at Moonlight Mile Recording by sound sage Mike Moebius and centered on tales of swords, sorcery, death, doom and widespread obliteration, PILGRM‘s II: Void Worship is a frighteningly crushing exercise in pure, sonic doom. Each of its eight tracks ebb and flow into frenzied climaxes and fade into sweet audio depressions, molding perfectly crafted rock songs into twisted spires of critic, shadowy doom metal epics. Spin notes, “PILGRIM‘s lyrics read like fantasy novels, and when The Wizard sings of sword and steel with his powerhouse voice, you want nothing more than to cast aside your worldly possessions and join the glorious quest,” while Metal Insider applauds, “…PILGRIM turn in their drone elements for a more melodic approach to the doom ethos.
