THE BREATHING PROCESS To Kick Off US Tour This Thursday

New England symphonic blackened death metal battalion THE BREATHING PROCESS are readying to kick off another US tour in support of their Odyssey: (Un)Dead opus, issued via Candlelight earlier this year. Dubbed The Shredding Pumpkins Tour, the trek will commence tomorrow at Champion Ship in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania and wind its way through over a month’s worth of dates — with more to be added — before coming to a close at the Mad Hatter in Covington, Kentucky. The band will be joined by Antagonist (headliners), Wretched and Diskreet.

Commented guitarist Jordan Milner of the upcoming dates: “We’re really excited to get back on the road again. We’ve added some great new elements and dimensions to our live show as well as another surprise that you’ll have to just come out and see. We’re really going to push the envelope of what we consider ‘dark’ or ‘evil’ and make sure that everyone leaves our shows covered in blood. We’re also really excited to hit the road with Wretched once again as we’ve known those guys for awhile. All the bands on this run are really talented and all have new albums out. It is definitely a show worth seeing!”

THE BREATHING PROCESS have prided themselves on the hybrid nature of their music. Splicing symphonic black metal with brutal death metal, the band further manage to introduce elements of epic ambiance and melody unseen by most acts in today’s realm of heavy music. Odyssey: (Un)Dead features twelve tracks and was produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage). Conceptually based on a single person’s journey down the path of exile, the songs progress in bold, varying movements that emphasize the power and landscapes of the world’s natural elements: Oceans, forests, great plains, glaciers and deserts.

“The Breathing Process’s Odyssey (Un)Dead is an amazing contribution to symphonic metal. Done with epic taste and class, this album shows why this style of music is not just good, but masterful when executed with attentive precision.” – Skulls N Bones

“The Breathing Process have risen from the deathcore pit and now climb the wall of death metal. With their ability to brilliantly create their own sound, it’s nothing but a matter of time before The Breathing Process is a titan of death metal.” – Corazine

“An album with depth and vision, this is a compelling insight into a fascinating band.” — Metal Hammer

“The Breathing Process…have all worked together to create and lay before us a truly epically solid and amazing album. Let’s light fires upon the true garbage and cherish such a thing. Without a shadow of any doubt, one of the best metal albums to emerge thus far in 2010, but in no way a token for the simple minded or easily amused.” — CWG
