To celebrate the holiday season, the folks at The Gauntlet have launched a heavy metal advent calendar. Each day leading up to Christmas Eve, they’ll stream a record from one of this year’s most extreme metal acts. Today The Gauntlet spotlights LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH’s The Extra Dimensional Wound. The second full-length from the underrated California black metal collective was released via Metal Blade Records earlier this year and basks under the weight of its own infernal brutality. The disc was recorded in Corona, California at Trench Studios by guitarist Roska with John Haddad handling engineering duties, and was mixed and mastered by Sverker “Necro” Widgren at the legendary Necromorbus Studios in Stockholm Sweden.
