LÃ…NGFINGER: Gothenburg Power Trio Streams “Say Jupiter” From Crossyears Full-Length; Album To See Release This Fall Via Small Stone

LANGFINGER

Crossyears is the forthcoming full-length from Gothenburg power trio LÃ…NGFINGER. The ten-track offering was recorded by Johan Reivén and Olle Björck at Sweden’s Welfare Sounds Studio with additional recordings by LÃ…NGFINGER at Beduin HQ, mixed by Olle Björck, and mastered by Daniel Johansson. In advance of its release, New Noise Magazine is currently offering “Say Jupiter” for public consumption.

Comments bassist/vocalist Victor Crusner, “‘Say Jupiter’ was the first song written for the album. If you could put a heart rate monitor on the band at any time this is the bpm that would show. And the producers thought it was a good idea to throw random objects at me while recording vocals in order to bring out the right nerve. The result is a rampant rock tune full of blazing riffs, non-stop skin battery, and the occasional Mordor-esque war cries.”

LÃ…NGFINGER‘s Crossyears will be released via Small Stone on CD, digital, and limited-edition clear vinyl on September 30th. For preorders and to check out opening track “Feather Beader” visit THIS LOCATION.

A truly kick ass power trio is quite possibly the perfect rock formation. If there aren’t that many trios around, that’s because it’s a hard thing to pull off: with just three people having to nail the rhythmic fusion of bass and drums, the wild colors of guitar, and the soul-grabbing focus of the human voice, there can be no passengers aboard. Extraordinary chemistry is essential. Everyone has to be right on it, and locked in. Which is why lots of trios fail, or cop out, and recruit extras.

The members of LÃ…NGFINGER, hailing from the fertile rock ‘n’ roll city of Gothenburg, are masters of the art. They’ve been playing together since they were in their early teens, and their imminent third album is both the thrilling culmination of their collective endeavor, and a rumination on it – on how time has shaped them and brought them to this point. Within its hard-hitting grooves, the interlocking of LÃ…NGFINGER‘s three disparate characters – Kalle Lilja, the unflappable, precision axeman; Jesper Pihl, the athletic sticksman battering out physical revenge on his kit; and Victor Crusner, the intense, exploratory spirit, bridging thundering bass and howling exorcism – is a magical proposition.

“From the swing and stomp of its title-track to the organ-laced grandeur of ‘Atlas,’ the record brims with classic spirit, but casts off the stylistic restrictiveness of vintage production in favor of a full, vibrant sound, resulting in a mix that brings out the strengths of both without sacrificing the obvious chemistry the band has built over their time together. Also it rocks. Confidently.” – The Obelisk
