Christchurch, New Zealand-based brutal metal faction BLINDFOLDED AND LED TO THE WOODS has completed the band’s merciless second full-length, Modern Adoxography. As they finalize the album for release in October, in conjunction with their shows supporting The Dillinger Escape Plan, the band has issued the album’s “Licking A Landmine” early through a premiere at No Clean Singing.
BLINDFOLDED AND LED TO THE WOODS offers of the single, “‘Licking A Landmine’ is the second track from our new album Modern Adoxography. Musically it is a challenging song, flowing from fast paced savage riffage to slower destructive and punishing sludge. Lyrically we are touching on the linguistic hoops we all must jump through to survive in this PC society, and how in turn it has changed the way we communicate. It is one of our favorite songs to play live, the massive amounts of energy in the song always get the pit going, especially with that slamming outro!”
No Clean Singing issues, “‘Licking A Landmine’ includes elements of brutal death metal, tech-death, and grindcore, all mixed together with doses of off-planet weirdness. It hammers like a titanic pile-driver splitting concrete, swarms in insectile frenzies, and erupts in note flurries indicative of batshit derangement. And yet, the band have also infiltrated hooks within this mad juggernaut of a track, which will in turn infiltrate your head.”

Earlier this year, BLINDFOLDED AND LED TO THE WOODS recorded their sophomore album Modern Adoxography, the record manifesting everything audiences have come to love about the band, with ten relentless tracks in thirty-five minutes of crushing riffs, technical wizardry, and merciless vocals. While the band’s musical foundation is built upon brutal death metal, elements of demented grindcore and bizarre sci-fi tones weave their way into the complex structures, resulting in an engaging and damaging listening experience. Modern Adoxography was produced by Joseph Veale and BLINDFOLDED AND LED TO THE WOODS, the album recorded at Blue Barn Studios with James Goldsmith, mixed by Samuel K. Sproull, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, completed with artwork and design by Syn Photography.
