World renowned New York City-based MAC GOLLEHON presents a new video for “The End Is The Beginning,” the title track to his filmic new solo EP, nearing February release through Nefarious Industries. Exclusively premiered through BrooklynVegan, the video features a guest appearance from Vincent Pastore, known for portraying the character Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in the acclaimed series The Sopranos, as well as his roles in the 1996 film Gotti, 2014 Broadway musical Bullets Over Broadway, and more.

From Onyx’s Slam album, Blondie’s The Hunter LP, and Billy Ocean’s “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car,” New York City-based MAC GOLLEHON has recorded on thousands of albums, including over two-hundred gold and platinum albums. However, The End Is The Beginning fuses avant-jazz with the influence of 1970s film noir scores. With Don Ellis’ score for The French Connection and Lalo Schifrin’s Dirty Harry suite at the forefront, fans of Ennio Morricone, Miles Davis, Elvin Jones, Riz Ortolani, Mike Patton, and more can find themselves immersed in the diverse record.

With ten songs in thirty-three minutes, The End Is The Beginning was written and performed by MAC GOLLEHON, who delivers choreographed trumpet, cornet, trombone, and more, percussion, keyboards, guitars, bass, vocals, and more. Conceptualized with David Brenner (Gridfailure) on the heels of their Dismemberment Cabaret collaboration, The End Is The Beginning was engineered, recorded, and mixed by Brenner, who provides field recordings/samples, design, and visuals. The record is completed with photography by Tyler Adams and mastered by Dan Emery at Black Matter Mastering (Kool Keith, Buzzov*en, Dälek).

The “The End Is The Beginning” video showcases GOLLEHON as a deranged hitman, unleashed by the crime boss played by his friend Vincent Pastore, leaving a destructive path of crime and murder across NYC. The lead scene was directed by Pastore, filmed in the Bronx, and features two students from his acting workshop, Joe Ferraro and Lou Vitulli. The rest of the video was filmed and edited by Tyler Adams, directed by Adams and GOLLEHON, and completed with post-production effects by David Brenner.

GOLLEHON writes of the song, “Any hour to be devoured, in the brutal world of hitters, who hits first? Are you in a hearse? Echoes, shadows, friendly havoc. Ugly songbirds come to pluck…”

BrooklynVegan writes how the new video, “takes its inspiration from mob films (in a grainy, B-movie type of way), and it stars and features direction by someone who knows a thing or two about mob films: Vincent Pastore, aka Big Pussy from The Sopranos.”
