West Coast ethereal doom trio IDES OF GEMINI were recently added to the Los Angeles stop of the long-anticipated Decibel Magazine Tour. The tour, which boasts the monolithic lineup of Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood and In Solitude, will make its way to the House of Blues on April 25 and IDES OF GEMINI are grateful for the opportunity to open the eclectic rituals that evening.
Comments guitarist/backing vocalist J. Bennett: “IDES OF GEMINI are beyond thrilled to be joining Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood and In Solitude on the Los Angeles date of Decibel’s mega-tour extravaganza. For anyone who wants to get there before all the blood and Satanism starts – I know, I know: why would you wanna do that? – we promise to make it worth your while. And by that I mean that we will be handing out free drugs before we play. Okay, that’s a lie. I’m not gonna share my drugs with you. We barely know each other. See you on the 25th, though?”

Additionally, IDES OF GEMINI will be performing on April 15, 2012 at the Blue Cafe Underground Long Beach, California alongside Alcest, Lake of Blood, and Destroy Judas . More info on the event is available HERE.
IDES OF GEMINI are a collusion of musical forces precipitated by the haunting and inimitable vocal prowess of singer/bassist Sera Timms, also of Los Angeles dark-psych alchemists Black Math Horseman. The compositions are the long-simmering mental fallout of veteran music and film journalist J. Bennett (guitar/backing vocals), who has spent most of the last 14 years writing for such publications as Decibel, Terrorizer, Revolver, Alternative Press and Thrasher. The third and final corner of the triangle is Kelly Johnston, whose martial drumming techniques and soaring backing vocals literally brought IDES OF GEMINI to life as a performing entity. The band will unveil their full-length debut, Constantinople, via Neurot Recordings. Set for North American release on May 29, 2012 (May 28 in UK/EU), Constantinople‘s nine-tracks were produced by IDES OF GEMINI, engineered and mixed by Chris Rakestraw (Danzig, Skeletonwitch) at Sunset Lodge Recording in Los Angeles and features striking cover art collaboration by Timms and Bennett.
“Sera Timms’ voice is a national treasure. It’s a reverb-soaked choir of 4AD ghosts floating over scratchy guitars. Burzum scoring a spaghetti western. This stuff gives me chills.” – Decibel
