Behold! AUTHOR & PUNISHER‘s Women & Children full-length wreaks its cold, apocalyptic havoc upon unsuspecting masses today! Called “heavy and disturbing like a nightmare you suddenly wake from but aren’t quite sure you fully escaped,” by Metal Injection and described most succinctly as “industrial doom,” AUTHOR & PUNISHER is a one-man project led by the twisted ingenuity of engineer/former robotics major Tristan Shone. By employing primarily custom designed and fabricated machines, speakers and various devices that draw heavily upon aspects of industrial automation and robotics, Shone paints an unsettling yet wholly captivating soundscape of a diseased planet.
In celebration of its end time takeover, Revolver Magazine is currently streaming the album it its entirety. Experience the true essence of uncompromising audio decomposition at THIS LOCATION.
In related news, AUTHOR & PUNISHER will embark upon a North American tour run this Summer supporting Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals! Set to commence July 31st in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Technicians Of Distortion Tour will charge its way through 15 cities, coming to a sweltering close on August 22nd in New Orleans, Louisiana. Additional support will be provided by Warbeast. Said MetalSucks of the AUTHOR & PUNISHER live encounter, “the music was extremely loud, bass-heavy, powerful and industrial, calling to mind Godflesh-gone-‘roidal.” See confirmed dates below.

“Bloated, muddled beats hang in the air like zeppelins until Shone’s steel-toed boot of a chorus comes crashing down. The structure is something like Nine Inch Nails’ strongest songs: the build, the climax, then the chaos. The last minute of ‘Melee’ sounds like a death march led by a million-strong war cry. The machines have taken over. You have 20 seconds to comply.” – NPR on the track “”Melee.”
“Shone’s apocalyptic noise blends elements of industrial, doom, and dubstep, and contorts that mass into some chilling, unrecognizable form…” – Stereogum
“It’s the kind of music that renders the listener helpless but to listen again and again.” – Steel For Brains
“Once again the envelope has been pushed, the box stepped outside of and the tenants of doom and industrial have been refracted through the prism of the mind of a true innovator and they sound all the better for it.”–The Sleeping Shaman
“…an all-consuming trip into the realm of mental destruction that amazes with its potent use of musical machinery… Both greatly daring and innovative, the record is destined to be one of the most coveted underground releases of the year.” – Sputnik Music
“Tristan Shone has made me a believer. Metal contributes the persistent growl of the droning guitar, which is the heart of most of AUTHOR & PUNISHER‘s material. Industrial brings foreboding atmospheres, earsplitting percussion and the harrowed vocals. Shone blends these elements to create a brilliant cacophony of textures while maintaining melody and harsh beats.” – Echoes And Dust
“…a remarkably bleak and sinister record that explores the depressive and psychedelic in entirely new ways.” – Heavy Blog Is Heavy
