Today, Alpine black/death occultists VALDUR will embark upon a rare mini run of live dates alongside fellow black metal sorcerers Lightning Swords Of Death and Reign Of Lies. The short but pungent trek will spread its disease through Rochester, Laporte, Kansas City, Phoenix, and Oakland.
VALDUR Live Rituals 2013:
w/ Lightning Swords Of Death, Reign of Lies
07/01/2013 Montage Music Hall – Rochester, NY
07/02/2013 Games Emporium – Laporte, IN
07/03/2013 Riot Room – Kansas City, MO
07/05/2013 Joe’s Grotto – Phoenix, AZ
07/07/2013 Oakland Metro – Oakland, CA
The illusive trio will be touring in support of themselves as well as their recently unveiled Blast Beast EP. Initially released as a digital-only single, the band later decided to unleash the ‘Beast in CD format with additional tracks through their own Bloody Mountain Records. The mini-CD serves as a teaser for the as-yet-untitled upcoming new full-length. Said the band, “We are deep within the process of recording our next full length, and the Blast Beast CD is a stepping stone of sorts to lead us into the next era of VALDUR…” Added Decibel Magazine of the single, “The guitars swirl like a wicked blizzard at night, the drums blaaast! an unheard of brutality, and the vocals sound like they come from the blackest depths of the Mammoth Mountain. And then there’s that ominous horn-like sound permeating the soundscape. The end of the world or the beginning of an evil era, VALDUR certainly understand black metal’s key dynamics without making them sound tired.”
Blast Beast was recorded at the infamous Bloody Mountain Bunker and is currently available at bloodymountainrecords.com, valdur.bandcamp.com and direct from them back at their live rituals this week. Further details on VALDUR‘s imminent full-length to be disclosed in the coming weeks.
