Today Denver’s CALL OF THE VOID, bring the ruckus with a video premiere of “Abomination,” brought to you by Revolver. The tune is featured on the band’s Dragged Down A Dead End Path full-length which reared its menacing head via Relapse Records this past Spring.
Commended for its “legitimate, misanthropic emotion,” by Popmatters, Dragged Down A Dead End Path is 25+ minute onslaught of unhinged disgust. An unapologetic fusion of grind, crust and broken spirits, the record continues to reap critical hails nationally. Exclaim! named Dragged Down A Dead End Path, “…one of the best aggressive releases of the year,” while Pitchfork opines “CALL OF THE VOID [are] proving that Denver is a hotbed of serious vitriol and passion.” Adds Outburn: “With a raw, messy sound drenched in over-amped guitars and driven by pure bile, they channel grindcore and Iron Monkey-esque sludgy unpleasantness and with each track – the longest topping out at 3:44 – they go off in a half dozen directions without ever losing their focus on destroying everything close by.”

The video serves as a teaser for CALL OF THE VOID‘s forthcoming run of live assaults. The beatings begin September 21st on their home turf and will run through October 12th. The band will be joined by labelmates Ringworm and Howl as well as Withdrawal on select dates. Additionally, CALL OF THE VOID will appear at Denver Black Sky. Founded by legendary Skinless throat Sherwood Webber, Denver Black Sky will be held on December 14th, 2013. The three-stage event will include a very special “Grind In The Round” stage and feature a smoldering lineup of: Dying Fetus, Ghoul, Exhumed, Skinless, Speedwolf, Power Trip, Mammoth Grinder, Reproacher, Weekend Nachos, Iron Reagan, Axeslasher, Primitive Man, Vimana, Of Feather And Bone, Native Daughters, Black Sleep Of Kali, Dead Temple and Flight Of Sleipnir.

“…powerful, harsh crust grind at its fucking finest…” — American Aftermath
“It’s apparent that CALL OF THE VOID have written an album that will cling to fans of crust, d-beat, and hardcore like a symbiote to its host. A crushing, unforgiving album that offers little room for rest and more time for causing a ruckus.” – Sputnik Music
“CALL OF THE VOID are callous, loud and, although it sounds like an antonym, sagacious, let’s hope they don’t change any time soon.” – HeavyBlogIsHeavy
