ACROSS TUNDRAS‘ Neurot Recordings debut, Sage, was released in May 2011, capturing the band’s heritage perfectly, through an amalgam of haunting doom-tinged Americana, melding echoes of traditional country blues and psychedelic sludge. Their organic sound is well-honed, marking it as their most fully realized album to date with all of their influences and elements flowing cohesively.

“They may be one of the hardest working bands in metal” – Blistering

“When Across Tundras tell their grim, frostbitten tales of the frontier, they strike harvest gold.” – Decibel

“…like a cross between Earth’s Americana turn, recent Swans, and Kansas’ Samothrace.” – Signal To Noise

“This band and this album will help define the coming musical decade and, when the smoke has cleared, will emerge as true survivors, cosmic warriors, innovators in the cause of heaviness.” – Pop Matters

“…Across Tundras has shown a penchant for pacing — when you’re drawing influence for soundtrack music, it’s necessary if you want to keep the listeners in for the long haul…” – Outburn

“A prairie-sized slab of sludgy Americana… Sage dodges just about ever pigeonhole you could hope to stick it in.” – A.V. Club/The Onion

“Across Tundras’ roots lie in swampy and twangy Americana and dip into high-volume psychedelic riffery…” – Brooklyn Vegan

“…the power to create these calm soundscapes that can become these psychedelic storms of rad sludge.” – Cvlt Nation

“A rustic beauty binds these songs.” – About.com

“…as the last traces of winter give way to spring, Sage suits the season splendidly.” – Hellbound

“…every Across Tundras album is its own adventure, crossing into territory they have in the past, but never the same roads.” – Meat Mead Metal
