DEATH OF SELF formed in 2009 by McCarthy, bassist Nick Gravina, and drummer Shaggy B. Their sound has been formed with an unpredictable combination of grindcore, deathmetal, and sludge, referencing the works of Terrorizer, Repulsion, Dystopia, Discordance Axis, Napalm Death, Assuck, Revenge, and Today Is The Day. The trio has toured relentlessly from day one and followed its independent 2008 full-length, Time & Money, with their self-released 2010 EP, No Relief.
