The inaugural DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL is upon us, as the gathering raids Connecticut this Friday, and Saturday, with two days of internationally-known and newer acts from across the country from an array of bands spanning the underground spectrum on the bill. Born out of a desire to bring together some of the best touring acts in the world with quality local and regional metal acts, DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL will strive to become one of the premiere metal festivals in the US. Sponsored by Metal Insider and Earsplit PR, the initial gathering will take place Friday, August 14th and Saturday the 15th at The Outer Space & Ballroom
Friday, August 14th will be headlined by New Jersey thrash kings, Whiplash, as the band celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of their Power And Pain album this year. Additional touring bands playing that evening will be Virginia’s traditional/doom metallers Valkyrie and NYC avant black metal legion Imperial Triumphant, as well as Connecticut-based acts including occult heavy metallers Nightbitch, hard rockers Vengeance and sludge duo Bedroom Rehab Corporation.
Saturday, August 15th sees a diverse lineup headlined by Philadelphia’s hateful black metal sect Krieg, as well as North Carolina’s heavy/doom metal outfit Demon Eye, Chicago’s black/death outfit Immortal Bird, Texas-based psychedelic doom act Destroyer Of Light, Tucson/Vancouver’s sludge instigators Godhunter, and Pennsylvania’s hardcore/sludge maniacs Secret Cutter. Connecticut-based acts for the day include metal experimenters Tomb & Thirst, noise rock outfit Grizzlor, and death metal quintet Archaic Decapitator.
