GOROD: Progressive Tech Death Behemoths To Release A Maze Of Recycled Creeds Via Unique Leader This October; New Track Streaming At Decibel

GOROD 2015-2

Recently crowned, “the undisputed kings of melodic tech death,” by MetalSucks, long-active French brutalists, GOROD, will release their hotly-anticipated new full-length this Fall in North America via Unique Leader Records. Now three-years in the waiting, the near-fifty-minute-long A Maze Of Recycled Creeds spits forth eleven slithering tracks of arthritis-inducing riffs, spiraling, harmony-rich fret decompositions, surgically-precise time shifts, blasts, brawn and an incessant barrage of malicious vocal onslaughts. Fans of Necrophagist, Obscura, Meshuggah, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Decrepit Birth, bring a crash helmet.

In advance of its October 16th release, today Decibel Magazine is pleased to offer up third track, “Celestial Nature,” for public intoxication. Initially released as a play-through video earlier this year, MetalSucks notes, “The song has everything you want and expect from GOROD – dazzling musicianship and unstoppable melodies all rolled into one, neither of which compromise one another.”

Comments the band of the latest opus, “The lyrical concept of this album is based on the unfathomable fantasies created by various secret societies and mystical orders. A Maze Of Recycled Creeds speaks of the fraternity of the Rose-Croix, specifically via the works of Sâr Merodack Joséphin Péladan (1858 – 1918), a peculiar ‘guru’ claiming to have divine origins from Assyria… For the track ‘Celestial Nature,’ we touch on the enlisting of neophytes by using astrology. In a preamble to the initiation rites, the Rosicrucian disciple must identify himself with one major star and two minor stars the better to understand himself as an individual. This teaching matches with the Rosicrucian recurring discourse pattern about knowing oneself.”

Forged in Bordeaux, France in 1997 and initially known as Gorgasm, GOROD released their debut full-length, Neurotripsicks, in 2004 via Willowtip Records where they’d remain for their next two recordings. 2006’s Leading Vision would follow, paving the way to the band’s first ever North American live performance at the Maryland Death Fest. The band continued to floor the underground masses that year with their maniacal live output playing various European festivals throughout the Summer and Fall months. By 2008, GOROD dropped the noxious fruits of their Process Of A New Decline. Called a, colossal effort with outstanding musicianship worth several listens,” by Metal Underground in a near-perfect 4/5 rating, the record found GOROD honing their identity displaying more groove, speed, texture and technical dexterity than ever before. The band transcended further boundaries recording acoustic versions of some of their classic material as well as a fifteen-minute progressive epic on 2010’s self-released Transcendence EP. Regarded as a true masterwork to this day, GOROD‘s 2012-issued A Perfect Absolution full-length, released via Listenable Records found the unit at the peak of their proverbial game, their frenzied, speed-driven guitar sweeps and barbaric yet systematically-controlled assault of technical metal mayhem reaping critical accolades globally. In a 9/10 score Metal Injection hailed, “A Perfect Absolution comes unconditionally recommended to all fans of metal, whether you’re looking for a clinic in music theory or simply trying to bang your head in the car.” No Clean Singing agreed noting, “There are a lot of bands out there who are as talented as GOROD, but these Frenchmen have a talent for songwriting that places them light years beyond most of their contemporaries.” Added Heavy Blog Is Heavy in a 5/5 review, “This is a record where GOROD are at their most mature, crafting their most cohesive and well-put together album to date – easily a contender for album of the year.”

And with A Maze Of Recycled Creeds, GOROD picks up where they left off with some of their most awe-inspiring compositions yet. Believe it. A Maze Of Recycled Creeds, will be released October 16th, 2015 in North America via Unique Leader Records and in Europe via Listenable Records. Preorders and additional teaser tracks to be announced in the coming weeks.
