As Masters Of Space And Time, the bruising fourth full-length release by Ontario’s stoner metal kings GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH, sees release through the band’s new label home of German label Kozmik Artifactz, the album is streaming in its entirely through an exclusive stream at Decibel Magazine.

Surging with forty-two minutes of GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH‘s consistently thundering grooves, Masters Of Space And Time is quite different from previous work as the band continues to focus on writing more diverse material, avoiding simple pigeonholing of their sound and opting for a much more dynamic storytelling roller coaster style. The album was recorded at Empire Recording Studios in Windsor, Ontario, co-produced by Adam Michalczuk, Nick Kinnish, and Al Yeti Bones, engineered by Adam Michalczuk, mixed by Nick Kinnish, with additional tracking by Bones. The tracks were mastered by Phil Demetro at Lacquer Channel and the album completed with cover art by Will De Villers.

GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH‘s Al Yeti Bones states, “We stripped back for this album. The previous records were similar in production, and heaviness, and we wanted to incorporate a little more classic rock with this one and do something way different than past efforts. With that comes more singing and keyboards and maybe incorporating some other subtle nuances, like vocal layers and guitar harmonies. We really didn’t know how this was going to turn out as things became a bit experimental while in the studio. But it’s my favorite album we’ve done to date.”

With their early stream of the album, Decibel Magazine crowns it, “classic stoner rock combined with heavy metal and hard, even Southern, rock elements. GCG are a band that emphasize the rock part of their sound, creating deep grooves that are brightened by guitar melodies and keys. The vocals on Masters Of Time And Space alternate between a warm bellow and a scream and the music is unafraid to take a dip into psychedelic waters…”

The band will have the beer bottled and kegged just in time for their upcoming album release show which has been confirmed for March 16th. There will also be a limited edition run of bottles for sale locally this year as well.

GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH was established in 2009 by Al Yeti Bones, formerly of The Mighty Nimbus, Georgian Skull, and Mister Bones. The five-piece sonic wrecking crew – Bones, as well as Adam Saitti, Darren Brush, Dustin Black, John Serio, and Mark Calcott – has been building quite the name for themselves in the last decade, not just in Canada, but globally throughout the underground music scene. The band can be best described as a blend of ’70s classic rock/heavy metal with elements of ’90s stoner rock and grunge, as displayed on their prior three LPs released through the likes of Black Vulture Records and Pitch Black Records.
