Paralyzer is the latest seven-inch from progressive sludge-bringers HE WHOSE OX IS GORED. Scheduled to drop via Chain Letter Collective and the band’s own label Void Assault Records this Friday, the track “Paralyzer” was captured by renowned producer Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana, L7, High On Fire, Zeke etc.) at Avast! Recording Studio (Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Earth, Supersuckers etc.) as part of a Converse Rubber Tracks session and includes two previously released tracks – “Buried Twice” and “Void Assault” from the band’s critically-lauded Rumors EP – remixed by their cohorts in Seattle’s Newaxeyes.
In advance of its release, today Invisible Oranges is streaming the three songs comprising “Paralyzer” in full issuing: “Paralyzer effortlessly dances in the sludgy calculus of Intronaut. As increasing amounts of metal bands flirt with syncopation and contortionist rhythms, HE WHOSE OX IS GORED is one of the few that do so while inviting the listener in with catchiness and grooves. The video for ‘Paralyzer’ matches those sounds with disorienting images of mechanized factories and singer/synth architect Lisa Mungo yelling to the viewer.
