Italian progressive metal outfit KINGCROW has crossed continents and is currently on North American soil touring in support of their grand fifth full-length, In Crescendo, out now on Sensory Records.
Following a kick-off show in Atlanta last night upon their arrival to the U.S., KINGCROW is in the process of hooking up with Pain Of Salvation, supporting the prog giants on an eight-city trek, not including a one-off show headlining the afterparty for the first night of this year’s ROSFest gathering in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania this Friday, May 3rd.
Having evolved from a mostly progressive metal direction, KINGCROW has increasingly expanded the scope of their sound to encompass elements of rock over recent years, nowadays culminating strong atmospheric components similar to Riverside, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd but also bearing a heavier, metallic semblance to Opeth and Dream Theater. In Crescendo has helped the band gain legions of new fans since its February release via progressive metal linchpin Sensory Records a division of The Laser’s Edge.
KINGCROW has completed their second official video from In Crescendo, for the album’s fifth opus, “The Drowning Line,” now playing alongside the previously-released video for “Morning Rain,” a visual trailer for the North American tour and more, all viewable RIGHT HERE.
Additionally, In Crescendo‘s opening track, “Right Before” is streaming at PureGrainAudio, and the second track, “This Ain’t Another Love Song,” at Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles.

“Bands like Italy’s Kingcrow aren’t supposed to sound this unpretentious. Throw on In Crescendo and you’ll hear very little of the pained, self-conscious importance of Dream Theater and Opeth at their most excessive. Instead, you’ll get the feeling of six guys absolutely in love with their instruments and blissfully unaware of anything genre fans may be expecting of them. 8/10” – Outburn
“…from start to finish, on In Crescendo, Kingcrow weaves an immensely entertaining tapestry of music, a fine merger of melodic heavier rock with its progressive rock and metal counterparts. 5/5” – Dangerdog Music Reviews
“…Kingcrow bring this album to a triumphant conclusion with so much great and complex at times music and as with the other seven songs the vocals are also very inviting. 4.5/5” – Sea Of Tranquility
“…a very fine mixture of modern progressive metal and mellow progressive rock, which is sure to please fans of both genres… 8/10” – My Global Mind
