Chicago-based NEQUIENT is preparing to embark on their Wolves At Your Door Tour 2018 next week, supporting their smoldering Wolves At The Door album, released through Nefarious Industries in May.

NEQUIENT‘s Wolves At The Door was recorded by Pete Grossmann at Bricktop Recording (Weekend Nachos, Immortal Bird, Disrotted), mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, All Pigs Must Die, Full Of Hell), and completed with artwork by M.G. Miller (Bongripper, Lord Mantis, Sick/Tired). With dystopian themes and intense socio-political lyrics, Wolves At The Door is a fierce, metallic hardcore/punk-fueled album in the vein of Converge, Baptists, Cursed, and Early Graves.

The band now takes these anthems on tour across the Eastern US. The tour will begin July 27th in Indianapolis, then run through Akron, Greensboro, Richmond, Baltimore, Providence, Brooklyn, Sugar Loaf, Philadelphia, before the final show in Columbus on August 5th. The diverse DIY-booked trek will see the band playing with a wide array of acts including Hatesong, Maid Myriad, Brimstone Coven, Deadball, October, Replicant, Gridfailure, THÆTAS, The Never Never, Booth, The Black Antler, and more.

The members of NEQUIENT offer, “”We’ve really appreciated all the positive reactions to Wolves At The Door, and we’re very pleased to bring these songs to some cities we’ve never played before. There are some intense shows ahead, thanks in large part to the contributions of a bunch of badass local bands and promoters.”

Wolves At The Door dispatches a metallic hybrid of punk-fueled hardcore, showcasing NEQUIENT‘s talents as writers and performers earned through their years of DIY recording and touring. The band pummels listeners from all directions but never forgets to land the hook, packed with relentless, fleet-fingered riffs, backed by d-beats, single-foot blasts, and an array of inventive fills. The vocals shift from mid-range barks to death metal grunts and pained shrieks, unified by inexhaustible aggression and a lyrical bent toward social critique.

Decibel Magazine posts, “Wolves At The Door, the debut album by Chicago’s NEQUIENT, comes blazing in on misanthropy-fueled ICBM missile sporting all of the above and, therefore, our enthusiastic stamp of approval.” Invisible Oranges offers in part, “The composition is barreling and misanthropic, like many a good Vonnegut tale; and is certainly a worthy take at honoring one hell-of-a-good writer who always seemed right on the edge of fantasy and reality. NEQUIENT is aware of this precarious line… Wolves At The Door – rips hard in its apocalyptic hue.” Toilet Ov Hell referred to, “an album that’s gonna punch through your door like the Kool-Aid Man, drink all your beers, and make you tearfully apologize to your dad for clearing out his booze stash.” Sonic Abuse gave the album a 9/10 review warning that Wolves At The Door is, “every bit as feral as the title implies, the band offering up eleven ear-drum searing tracks in just under forty minutes…Wolves At The Door will appeal to those who worry converge edge too close to conventional melodicism and is the living embodiment of the term relentless.”
