Alongside the release of their critically-acclaimed mammoth tenth studio full-length, Honor Found In Decay, NEUROSIS now dominates the front cover of the December issue of Decibel Magazine. The in-depth story was inscribed by Shane Mehling after having conducted personal interviews with both Scott Kelly and Steve Von Till in addition to studiomaster Steve Albini, the feature also bearing unique and exclusive photography by Chuck Anderson of Nopattern. Check out the cover and order the issue RIGHT HERE.
NEUROSIS will perform material from Honor Found In Decay for the first time ever at a special one-off record release show this Saturday, November 17th. The ceremony is to take place at the incredibly historic Fox Theatre in NEUROSIS‘ Bay Area origin of Oakland, California, with opening support from Portland’s psychedelic sludge trio YOB and direct support from Montreal’s progressive thrash legends Voivod! Two weeks later they’ll cross the Atlantic for two special UK performances, first at ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas curated by Steve Albini’s band Shellac, followed by a concert in London with the mighty Godflesh. Additional live performances will continue to be announced in the weeks ahead.
Listen to the opening track from Honor Found In Decay, “We All Rage In Gold,” via Vice Magazine’s music channel Noisey, and the second song, “At The Well,” at National Public Radio.

“Those who prefer their epics harrowing, their atmospheres apocalyptic and their metaphorical gut punches landed squarely on the emotional solar plexus will not be disappointed. 8/10” – Decibel
“…officially upped the ante for all the post-metal bands who ought to be paying these guys royalties for their patent on psychedelic purgation…” – Spin
“For 27 years, the members of Neurosis have demonstrated what metal can be and what it can aspire to: transcendent, cathartic, graceful, innovative.” – National Public Radio
“…doesn’t abandon the moody sprawl of the band’s last few full-lengths, but it does help restore urgency to an aesthetic that seemed in danger of growing soporific… It’s a record that proves these grizzled artisans still know how to flex their muscles. 7.9/10” – Pitchfork
“Post-metal has become a genre unto itself, but not a single band out there would exist if it were not for Neurosis.” – Outburn
“…pushes and pulls between anguish and ascension – between darkness and light – sometimes within the same passage.” – Alarm Press
“The songs of Honor Found in Decay are alternately hideous and beautiful, human and mechanized, stunning, devastating, emotionally resonant and cerebrally engaging, and there’s only one source that could have given them life. In every sense, they are Neurosis’ own, and they encompass the exact completeness of what that means.” – The Obelisk
“…consider my mind sufficiently blown, with specks of skull and spongy brain splattered all over the wall behind me. 5/5” – MetalSucks
“…the clear instrumental separation in Albini’s mix casts revealing spotlights upon the band’s increasingly nuanced material, which offsets the lingering hardcore/metallic-born cacophony of yesteryear with broader dynamics than perhaps ever before. 4/5” – All Music Guide
“…Neurosis continues to build out relevant deviations to its persona, crafting records with permanence. Honor Found In Decay is another such record, a product of Neurosis’ consistency and their refusal to simply duplicate their past efforts. 4.75/5” – Stereokiller
“Never has this band been so foremost and honest in their delivery and execution. 4.5/5” – About.com
“…another rich and complex addition to the Neurosis pantheon… 9/10” – Blistering
“…another triumph for a band that refuses to rest on its laurels. 9.5/10” – Crave Online
“…the band continues to offer up a contrast of light and heavy for a fuller, richer, listening experience. 9/10” – Hellbound
“Neurosis is one of the most significant bands in heavy metal, as crucial to the genre’s development and vitality as Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Venom or any other pioneering act you’d care to mention. 8/10” – PopMatters
“There are few bands that you can actually HEAR have mental breakthroughs on album. 5/5” – MetalRiot
