The latest unclassifiable whirlwind of recorded auditory exploration from Phoenix, Arizona-based THE OXFORD COMA will hit this August with the outfit’s second LP, Paris Is Mine. American Aftermath has leaked the first single from the record with its opening track, “Canadian Questionmark.”
Recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Jalipaz at Audioconfusion in Mesa, Arizona, Paris Is Mine delivers forty minutes of THE OXFORD COMA‘s self-prescribed psychedelic anxiety rock. The ongoing self-corrosion of the experimentalist trio’s production style brings out new elements of their tantalizing madness, as Paris Is Mine is the first recorded output from the unit including two drummers, previously only a sporadically recurring theme of their live setup. The first single from Paris Is Mine is now available for public intoxication courtesy of an exclusive premiere of the album’s opening track, “Canadian Questionmark,” the mag offering, “When that ill-as-fuck band comes across your radar, you reach out a loving hand and thank your PR rep for thrusting something your way. I was recently introduced to THE OXFORD COMA and, damn. They are siiiick. Sludgy, filthy madness tucked into a nice, neat package. Wait, you don’t know THE OXFORD COMA? Well, welcome to Awesometown.”

Paris Is Mine will be independently released on August 11th, digitally, with a limited physical format to follow. Digital preorders are now available HERE.
THE OXFORD COMA is preparing an official video and more for release prior to the album, and has shows in Texas, California and a record release show in Arizona confirmed for the coming months, with waves of new tour dates in the planning stages.

From within the scorching Southwestern US, THE OXFORD COMA has steadily pumped out a hearty discography of independent releases since their 2011 inception. Powered and endorsed by Orange amps, and drawing from a wide array of influences from across the spectrum of forward-thinking rock artists, bridging the early days and modern times, comparisons to the improvisational prog rock circles of the 1960s and ’70s to premier extreme acts of the past thirty years, the recorded output of this morphing act has drawn similarities to Tool to Primus, Radiohead to The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nirvana, Neurosis, King Crimson, Kyuss and many things in between. The band’s second full-length, Paris Is Mine, continues to show the band opting for rawer, live, more DIY productions with each release, and with this one, THE OXFORD COMA has harnessed a raw beast; their most corrosive and unreserved material to date. Bent on combining the weirdness and freshness of improvisation with the intensity and honesty of good metal and the lasting impact of innovative rock, the new album was created with minimal production, the vocals all in one take in order to preserve a natural feel.
