Arizona’s grunge/noise rock outfit THE OXFORD COMA returns with the outfit’s mind-altering Albini-produced third LP, Everything Out Of Tune. The entire album is now streaming at Decibel Magazine ahead of its official independent release this Friday the 13th.

Everything Out Of Tune delivers nine new tracks, delivering more than forty minutes of devastatingly creative noise rock-influenced psychedelic intensity. Recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio, Chicago, mastered by John Golden at Golden Mastering, and features guitar from Intronaut’s Sacha Dunable on the lead track, “Trauma (Maybe I’m Forgetting Something.” Thundering grunge riffage meets progressive exploration, the album offers a spectrum of effects-drenched tones, teleporting the listener into an altered state of listening.

Decibel Magazine states alongside an interrogation of the band’s chief songwriter Billy Tegethoff and an advance stream of the entire album, “THE OXFORD COMA combine varied influences to find their signature sound, which they describe as ‘progressive psychedelic grunge.’ Aided by legendary producer Steve Albini, THE OXFORD COMA‘s latest effort, Everything Out Of Tune is unique and fresh.”

From the scorching Southwestern US underground music scene comes the indefinable works of THE OXFORD COMA, an outfit which rides the fine line between rock and metal, experimental and straightforward, and even being a trio or quartet, and which has steadily pumped out a hearty discography of independent releases since their 2011 inception. Comparisons to the improvisational prog rock circles of the 1960s and ’70s to premier extreme acts of the 1990s through today, the collective recorded output of this morphing act has drawn similarities to everything from early Tool to Primus, Radiohead to The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nirvana to Neurosis, King Crimson to Kyuss, and so on.

Created over a two-year cycle throughout which the entire band lineup was completely restructured, Everything Out Of Tune is undeniably an album which takes THE OXFORD COMA‘s unique sonics to the next level in every conceivable way. Breaking the cycle of going for grittier studio recordings with each release, the follow-up to the band’s 2015-released Paris Is Mine, this time the band recorded with Steve Albini to capture Everything Out Of Tune. Utilizing the famous producer’s talent and his vast arsenal of incredible equipment and instruments, including the same guitars and amps as some of their most influential bands like Nirvana and many others have on their albums.

THE OXFORD COMA:
Billy Tegethoff – guitar/vocals
Mert Salahi – guitar
Casey Dillon – drums
Doug Staples – bass
