TILE: No Echo Debuts “Landmines” By Pennsylvania Sludge/Noise Rock Trio; Come On Home, Stranger LP Set For August Release

As Allentown, Pennsylvania noise rock/sludge trio TILE prepares to issue their second LP, Come On Home, Stranger, through Limited Appeal Records in August, No Echo is now streaming the album’s first single, the volatile “Landmines.”

The track premiere is paired with an interview with TILE bassist/vocalist Ray Gurz, also a professional skater and owner of Lost Soul Skateboards, who provides in part of the “Landmines” single, “You can never judge what’s in the package by what it looks like on the outside. You don’t know what they are going through. How bad of a day they had? I am a landmine.”

No Echo issues, “TILE write and perform music that falls somewhere between the noise rock of the hallowed AmRep label roster of the ’90s and ’80s hardcore. It’s not the kind of stuff you put on in your car during a drive to the beach, well, unless you’re a lunatic.”

Since 2006, TILE has inundated the diverse Lehigh Valley DIY underground scene with their dynamic blend of angular noise rock, revved-up hardcore punk, and grinding sludge/doom riffage through a plethora of EPs, singles, split releases, and their 2013-released debut LP, You Had A Friend In Pennsylvania. In the Winter of 2017, TILE returned to Shards Recording Studio in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with owner and engineer Matt Molchany who engineered and mastered the upcoming follow-up LP, Come on Home, Stranger. The dense and varied album packs twelve tracks into forty-two minutes, filling every second of the LP to the edges with their gnarled, varied style. The record is completed with photography by Tim Wynarczuk, of a shoot arranged by the band, in the theme of their prior releases.
